W95SSTV-PC110 試行 ［to English note］ [2021/07/23]
＋＋＋ PC110で3色帯画像の受信テスト ＋＋＋
先回（↓）、「W95SSTV」のオリジナルFDが壊れてしまい、十分に試行出来なかったのだが、"SSTV電波"の方も、期待していたようには、入って来ない。
（こんな状態では、機能も十分でないシステムで、微弱な"SSTV"信号を受けるなんて、到底無理な話だ）
それで、兎に角、受信電波の代わりに、横に仮置きしたマシン「LaVie LW43H/2」（433MHz）を使って、受信と同じモードで送信して（スピーカー出力を、ケーブルを介して、「PC110」のイヤホン入力へ、送り込んで、）状態を見ることにした。（図２［クリック］）
結果、やはり予想した通り（？）、"処理の遅さ"ゆえの妙な画像、しか送れていないことが分かった。色の順番も、傾きも、異様だ。（図１）
あれこれ調整してみても、画面の1/3程度、良くても1/2程度までしか描けないらしい。
これは、"送信"の場合も似ていて、"処理状態の表示"と実際の"送信信号"とは、かなり乖離しているようだ。
"slant／傾き"調整をしても、予想通りには行かず、初期には、調整効果があっても、ある時点から、無茶苦茶な画面になってしまう。
こうした"デジタル処理"は、アナログ風に"中途半端な内容でも、得られれば、有難い！"とは行かないようで、"Yes or No"の世界だってことのようだ。
うーむ、「PC110」でも、処理出来そうなテーマか？と思ったが、簡単ではなさそうだな。
マシンを替えて、"SSTV"を追うのもありだが、信号が受からない現状では、アンテナ系を、もっと改善することも考えねばならぬ。
＋＋＋ jokeを試す ＋＋＋
「W95SSTV」の資料を見ると、処理マシンとして、（冗談半分で）486/66でも動作可能、と書いてある。（図３、図４［クリック］）
それなら、クロックアップした「PC110 40MHz」なら何とかなるのではないかと思ったのが、今回の切っ掛けだった。
しかし、▲14MHz（＝66-40MHz）の差は大きかった！●|￣|＿
昔、「PC110」のクロック50MHzに挑戦したこともあったが、今回の"SSTV受信"では、長時間待受けをする（はずな）ので、熱暴走も心配しなければならず、まぁ、止めた方が無難だろう。
「ThinkPad230Cs」のように、CPUが換装出来れば良いのだが、「PC110」のCPUは、特殊形状だから、まず、無理！
（CPUクロックを100MHzまで上げられれば、処理能力もかなりアップするのだろうなぁ。嘆息）
＋＋＋ PC110で送信はどうか？ ＋＋＋
今まで、「PC110」で受信ばかりを追っ掛けていたが、送信（図５）の方はどうなのか、見てみた。
まぁ、"送信"をする予定は無いので、どのような状態でも構わないのだが、一応確かめておきたかった。
同様に、こちらの方も、"信号"は出てはいるのだが、あまり芳しくはない。
説明書には、画像が傾いている場合、"slantを調整せよ！微妙だから、慎重に！"と書いてあるが、やはり、全体がちゃんと制御はされないらしく、"送信画像"は、素直には調整出来ず。（図６［クリック］）
何処か、デジタル的な閾値があって、其処を超えてしまうと、制御が効かなくなってしまうのだろう。
こちらの方も、信号出力（の時間）は、1/2～1/3程しか無い。
（この処理は、のろまのくせに、短気なんだなぁ。何処かの誰か、みたいだ。笑）
SSTV, CW 再見 試行 ［to English note］ [2021/07/18]
＋＋＋ 久振りに、受信機 ON！ ＋＋＋
先日、我が「PC110」に、SSTV（スロースキャンTV）やCW（電信）の音響信号を受けて解読させるといった仕事が出来るかどうか試してみようと思い立った。
受信機は、動作可能状態で棚の上に置いてある（図１）し、アンテナも垂直オールバンド1本は、残してあるので、それが使えるだろう。（図２［クリック］）
どちらも、「Win95」で動作する（だろうと推測した）ソフトを、幾つかネットから拝借して来て、試してみた。
しかし、「PC110」の処理速度（クロック周波数：33MHz）が低過ぎるし、"演算プロセッサ"も内蔵されていないので、動作はさせられるものの、始めに固まってしまって、とても使い物にはならず。
もし、「PC110」にさせるとしたら、スタンドアロン型の"モールス打電の練習器"位かな？
（でも、それでは、少し物足りないのだが）
当初、「No.13：杉」を使って"SSTV受信"を試そうとして、「W95SSTV」の1枚目のFD（フロッピ・ディスク）でインストールを始めたら、いきなり、FDの中身が消失！？
自家製「16MB拡張メモリ」を疑ったが、それが主犯でもなさそうで、やはり、本体全体が弱くなっている所為らしい。
＋＋＋ W95SSTV 1枚目が壊れた！ ＋＋＋
事前に、「PC110」の"マイク入力端子"が「3極の細プラグ(2.5㎜φ)」であろうと思って、それを探し出して来て、信号入力の準備した。（先端部がマイク入力、中央部がイヤホン出力、根元部がGND）
「No.13：杉」には、「Win95」が動作する"MultiBootCF"が入れてあるので、その「Win95」を起動した後、「W95SSTV」を働かせてみるつもりだった。（図３）
．．．ところが、それのインストール途中で、"1枚目のディスクが見付らない！"というエラーが出て来た！．．．アン？
そこで止めれば良かったのに、慌てて、「Update-1」のディスクを入れてしまった。
それでも、また同じエラー！．．．そこで、やっと気が付いたのだが、後の祭りだった。
「Win95」のエクスプローラで、FDの中身を見ると．．．カラッポ！！！（図４［クリック］）
はてさて？復活出来るかな？
「復元」プログラムで、探ってみたけれど、やはり跡形も無し！
まぁ、このプログラム「W95SSTV」は、ネット上で、今は"フリー・ウェア:W95290.zip"（例：Software.informer, SSTV SOFTWARE）として公開されているようなので、利用は可能だが、一方、私のFDの方は、もう元には戻せそうにない。（泣）
試しに、「W95SSTV V1.10」を、走らせてみているが、まだ、良い信号が受かってないので、テストを継続中。
＋＋＋ 拡張メモリを疑ったが ＋＋＋
この「No.13:杉」は、FD、HDD-1（内蔵フラッシュ・メモリ）、HDD-2（CF）いずれからも正常に立ち上がるので、全体的な機能は、ほゞ正常だと思う。
（例えば、「Win95」なども、正常に立ち上がる。図６［クリック］）
しかし、通常の"再起動"がスムーズではなく、電源断後に、直ぐ再投入すると、"電源は入るが、起動しない"などの、異常状態が散見される。
今回、"FDの内容が消えた"ことで、一瞬、"自家製16MB拡張メモリ"の"対策の有無"を疑った。
しかし、現物を確認したら、"対策処置"はしてあった！（図５）
多分、この"16MB拡張メモリ"が、主因ではないだろう。
あったとしても、"現在の本体"との組み合わせ／相性の"食い違い"で生じるエラーではないかと思っている。
これら「PC110」も、もう老境に入っており、何時、何が起きても不思議ではない時期だと、私は考えている。
以前は、故障なら直ぐ修理すべきだ、と考えていたが、今は、静観の構え。
有るがままを、活かして使いたい。
8型車載モニタ 分解 ［to English note］ [2021/07/02]
＋＋＋ 頑丈な構造 ＋＋＋
組み立てた「8型ディスプレイ」の前枠が無くて不格好なので、それを改善したくて、色々な既製の"8型ケース"を物色しているのだが、先日この（8インチ・オンダッシュ・モニタ）「V8T-R55」を見付けて、買って調べてみた。（￥１,５４０送料込み）
現物を合わせてみて、縦横のサイズが全く合わないことが分かった。（これでは、「前枠」は利用出来ない）
せめて、内部をそのまま利用出来ないかを調べようとしたが、頑丈に内部に固定されていて、"分解"が大変難しい！
流石に、信頼性を誇る日本の自動車用純正品の頑丈さだった。（図１）
後ろの「支え板」を留める2㎜φのビスも、内部のシャーシに固定されていて、しかも、「留めビス」の先端には"回り止めペイント"がたっぷり塗られていた。（図２［クリック］）
途中、ドライバで強く回そうとして舐めてしまい、幾つも"ビス頭"を潰してしまった。
最後は、3㎜φのドリルでビス頭を削って、「支え板」を取り外さねばならなかった。（図４［クリック］）
「裏蓋」は、その「支え板」を外して後でなければ、外せなかった。
つまり、社外品の多くに見られるような、周囲のプラスチック爪を外せば、簡単に分解出来るような簡単・簡素な構造ではなかったということ。（全く、私のような"素人改造屋"向きではなかった！）z(--;;;
尚、これと同時期に買った"8型車載モニタ"「Carrozzeria TV-W818」（￥８７０送料込み）も、同様で、利用出来る所が無い上に、液晶も"病変"しているらしく、画面の周辺にツブツブが浮いて見える状態だったので、一度分解した後、直ぐに閉じた。
これらは、将に、"買物ミス"の見本のようなものだが、苦くて良い教訓を得た。
＋＋＋ 電源コネクタ部の結線情報 ＋＋＋
液晶FPC端子を見ると、最近の「液晶ドライバ（・コントロール）・ボード」で駆動出来そうな端子配列ではなさそうだ。（図４［クリック］）
こちらの方からのアプローチは、即座に中止した。
次に、このモニタ本来の動作の方を、調べてみた。
車載用モニタの機能は、詳しくは知らないが、車の「キースイッチ」の（回転）位置で、電源の入り方が変わるはずだから、基本の電源入力は、"＋B"と"GND"だろうと考えた。（図３）
そして、あてずっぽうだが、"ILL"はイグニッション・ライト関連、"ACC"はアクセサリ関連だろうとみて、"ACC"だけを"＋B"に接続したら、電源がONし、表示が出るようになった。
"映像表示"が出るようになった後で、他の端子を"+B"に接続してみたが、無用だった。
結局、上記の接続だけで、必要十分なようだ。
＋＋＋ デジカメ出力で表示試験 ＋＋＋
「PC110」のVGA出力を、"コンポジット映像"に変換した信号では、何故か、ちゃんとした表示が出なくて、（上下方向に）流れてしまう。
多分、この"モニタ"は、VGA（640x480）表示には対応出来ないのだろう。
（残念ながら、此処でも、役に立ちそうにない）
試しに、デジカメ（OLYMPUS C-770UZ）AV出力を、使ってみた。（図６［クリック］）
これの出力だと、そのまま素直に表示出来る。（図５）
この"モニタ"、（私の）役に立ってくれないこと夥（おびただ）しいが、国産モニタに関する知見が得られたことは、損ではなかった！（ということに、しておこう。z(--;）

W95SSTV-PC110 Trial [2021/07/23]
+++ 3 color band image receiving test on PC110 +++
Last time (↓), the original FD of " W95SSTV " was broken and I couldn't try it enough, but " SSTV radio waves " didn't come in as I expected.
(In such a state as a system with insufficient functions, it is impossible to receive the weak "SSTV" signal.)
So, instead of receiving radio waves, I used the machine " LaVie LW43H/2 " (433MHz) that was temporarily placed side by side to it, and transmitted signals in the same mode to the receiver : " PC110 " with a cable, and saw the status. ( Fig.2 [click] )
As a result, as expected (?), It turned out that only strange images due to "slow processing" were recieved. It was abnormal color sequece and tilting.( Fig.1 )
Even if I adjust this and that, it seems that I can only draw about 1/3 of the screen , and at best 1/2 .
This is similar for "transmission", and it seems that the "display of processing status" and the actual "transmission signal" are quite different.
"slant" adjustment does not work as expected, and even if there is an adjustment effect at the beginning, the screen will be unreasonable after.
Such "digital processing" does not seem to say in an analog style "I would be grateful if I could get even half-finished content!", and it seems that it is a world of "Yes or No".
Hummm, is it a theme that can be processed even with " PC110 "? I thought, but it doesn't seem easy.
It is possible to change the machine and follow "SSTV", but in the current situation where the signal is not received, we must consider improving the antenna system further.
+++ Try joke +++
Looking at the text of " W95SSTV ", it (half a joke) says that it can operate on 486/66 as a processing machine. ( Fig.3 , Fig.4 [click] )
In that case, I thought that the clock-up " PC110 : 40MHz" would be something I could do.
However, the difference of ▲ 14MHz (= 40-66MHz) was big! ●|￣|＿
A long time ago, I tried CPU clock 50MHz of " PC110 ", but this time "SSTV reception" will be on standby for a long time (should), so it might become hot. I have to worry about runaway, well, it'll be safer to stop.
It would be nice if the CPU could be replaced, like " ThinkPad230Cs ", but the CPU of " PC110 " has a special shape, so it's impossible!
(If the CPU clock can be raised to 100MHz, the processing power will increase considerably.)
+++ How about sending on PC110? +++
Until now, I was chasing only reception with " PC110 ", but sending ( Fig.5 ) I tried to see what it was like.
Well, I have no plans to "send", so it doesn't matter what the situation is, but I wanted to make sure.
Similarly, this transmit also sent "signals", but it is not very good.
The instruction manual says, "Adjust the slant! Be careful because it's subtle!" If the image is tilted, but it seems that the whole thing is not controlled properly, and the "sent image" is straightforward. I can't adjust it. ( Fig.6 [click] )
Somewhere, there is a digital threshold, and if it is exceeded, control will be lost.
This also is limitted signal output (time) of only 1/2 to 1/3 of image screen.
(Although the processing is slow, but impatient. It looks like someone somewhere. lol)
SSTV, CW revisit trial [2021/07/18]
+++ After a long time, the receiver is on! +++
The other day, is it possible my " PC110 " receive and decrypt sound signals of SSTV (slow scan TV) and CW (telegraph/Continuous Wave), I decided to try if I could do such a job.
The receiver is operational and placed on the shelf ( Fig.1 ), and a antenna is also a vertical all-band one. I had left it, so I can use it. ( Fig.2 [click] )
In both cases, I got some software that (I guess) works on " Win95 " from the net and tried it.
However, the processing speed (clock frequency: 33MHz) of " PC110 " is too low, and the "arithmetic processor" is not built in, so although it can be operated, it freezes at the beginning. So it's not usefull.
If any may be allowable for " PC110 ", it might be a stand-alone "Morse code practice device".
(But that's a little unsatisfactory.)
Initially, I would try "SSTV reception" using " No.13:Sugi/Ceder ", and when I started installing with the first FD (floppy disk) of "W95SSTV ", the contents of FD suddenly disappeared! ??
I suspected the homemade " 16MB extended memory ", but it seems that it is not the main culprit, and it seems that the whole body has slightly weaked now.
+++ W95SSTV 1st disk broke! +++
In advance, I thought that the "microphone input terminal" of " PC110 " would be a "three-pole thin plug (2.5 mmφ)", searched for it and I prepared for input.
(The input for microphone at the tip, the output for earphone at the center, GND at the base)
" No.13:Sugi/Ceder " contains "MultiBootCF" that operates " Win95 ", so that after starting " Win95 ", I was going to try " W95SSTV ". ( Fig.3 )
... However, during the installation, it generated the error "The first disc cannot be found!"! ... Ann?
I should have stopped there, but in a hurry, I inserted the " Update-1 " disc.
Still, the same error again! ... There, I finally realized, but it was later of a festival.
Looking at the contents of the FD with the explorer of " Win95 ". ... Kalappo!/parfect vacant! ( Fig.4 [click] )
By the way? Can it be revived?
I searched for it with the "Restore" program, but there is no trace at all!
Well, this program "W95SSTV" seems to be published as "freeware: w95290.zip"(example: Software.informer, SSTV SOFTWARE) on the net now, so it can be used But on the other hand, my FD is unlikely to be undone anymore. (T.T;)
I'm trying to run "W95SSTV V1.10", but I haven't received good signals yet, so I'm continuing the test.
+++ I suspected extended memory, but +++
This " No.13:Sugi " starts up normally from any of FD, HDD-1 (built-in flash memory), and HDD-2 (CF), so the overall function is almost normal, I think.
(For example, " Win95 " also starts up normally. Fig. 6 [click] )
However, the normal "restart" is not smooth, and if I turn it on again immediately after turning off the power, abnormal conditions such as " power turns on but does not start " are occasionally seen.
This time, because "the contents of the FD disappeared", I doubted "whether or not I had treated a counter measure" for "homemade 16MB extended memory" for a moment.
However, when I checked the actual product, I found that "countermeasures" had been taken! ( Fig.5 )
Perhaps this "16MB extended memory" is not the main cause.
Even if there is, I think that it is an error caused by " discrepancy " of combination/compatibility with "current main body".
These " PC110 " are already in the old age, and I think it's a time when it's no wonder what happens.
I used to think that if something went wrong, it have to be repaired immediately, but now I'm on the look out only.
I want to make the most of what now it is.
8-inch in-vehicle monitor disassembled [2021/07/02]
+++ Sturdy structure +++
The assembled "8-inch display" is awkward because it doesn't have a front frame, so I wanted to improve it, and various ready-made I'm looking for a " 8-inch case ", but the other day I found this (8-inch on-dash monitor) " V8T-R55 " and bought it and looked it up. (\ 1,540 including shipping)
When I checked the actual products, I found that the vertical and horizontal sizes did not match at all. (With this, the "front frame" cannot be used)
At the very least, I tried to find out if the inside could be used as it is, but it is firmly fixed inside and "disassembly" is very difficult!
As expected, it was the ruggedness of a genuine Japanese automobile and accessories that boasts reliability. ( Fig.1 )
The 2mmφ screw that fastens the "support plate" on the back is also fixed to the internal chassis, and the tip of the "screw" could not easly "rotated" because it was effective fastend with "stop paint". ( Fig.2 [click] )
On the way, I tried to turn it strongly with a screwdriver, so it became to lick, and I had crushed many "bis heads".
At the end, I had to remove the "support plate" by scraping the screw head with a 3 mmφ drill. ( Fig.4 [click] )
The "back cover" could only be removed after removing the "support plate".
In other words, it was not a simple form and structure that can be easily disassembled by releasing the surrounding plastic claws, as seen in many "external products".
(So to say, it wasn't to be the structure for "amateur remodelers" like me at all!) z(--;;;
The same applies to the "8-inch in-vehicle monitor" " Carrozzeria TV-W818 " (\ 870 including shipping fee) that I bought at the same time. It seemed to be a lesion of LCD, and it seemed that the lumps were floating around the screen, so after disassembling it once, it closed immediately.
This is like a sample of "shopping mistakes" to the general, but a bitter and good lesson.
++++ Power connector connection information ++++
Looking at the LCD FPC terminals, it seems that the terminal arrangement is not likely to be driven by the recent "LCD driver (control) board" .( Fig.4 [click] )
I stopped immediately the approach from this dirction.
Next, I investigated the original operation of this monitor.
I didn't know the function of the in-vehicle monitor in detail, but the way the power is turned on will change depending on the (rotation) position of the "key switch" of the car, so the basic power input is " + B " and " GND ". I thought it would be. ( Fig.3 )
And,I thought that "ILL" may be related to Ignition/Lightings and "ACC" may be related to Accessories, so when I connected only "ACC" to "+ B", then the power turned on and the display came out.
After "Video display" came out, I tried connecting other terminals to "+ B", but it was useless.
After all, the above connection seems necessary and sufficient.
+++ Display test with digital camera output +++
For some reason, the signal obtained by converting the VGA output of " PC110 " to "composite video" does not display properly and flows (up and down).
Perhaps this "monitor" seems not support VGA (640x480) display.
(Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to be useful here either)
As a test, I tried using a digital camera ( OLYMPUS C-770UZ ) AV output. ( Fig.6 [click] )
With this output, it can be displayed straightforwardly. ( Fig.5 )
Those "monitor"s weren't useful for me, but weren't any loss by getting the knowledge about Japanese high-grade products! (Anyway, let's be so. z(--;)
