System 1035 (130-1255) Antennas Faxback Doc. # 7480 When you tune to local AM and FM stations, you can use the supplied indoor AM loop antenna and FM antennas. For better FM reception, connect an outdoor FM antenna. CONNECTING THE AM LOOP ANTENNA Follow these steps to connect the supplied AM loop antenna. 1. Assemble the AM loop antenna as shown in the manual. 2. Unwind the antenna wires (about 3 turns). 3. Press and hold down both AM ANTENNA terminal tabs on the back of the system and insert the stripped ends of the antenna's wires into the holes. Then, release the tabs. 4. Position the loop antenna for the best reception. You can use the supplied screws to attach the antenna to the wall. CONNECTING THE SUPPLIED FM ANTENNA The supplied FM antenna is usually adequate for FM reception in metropolitan areas. If FM reception is weak, disconnect the FM antenna from the terminal on the back of the system and connect an outdoor antenna. If you install an outdoor antenna, follow all the installation instructions described in the enclosed "Safety Instructions". Use 300-ohm twin lead for this connection. Your local Radio Shack store sells a complete line of outdoor antennas and accessories. Follow these steps to connect an FM antenna. 1. Press and hold down the FM ANTENNA terminal tabs on the back of the system. 2. Insert the stripped ends of the antenna's wires into the holes. 3. Release the FM ANTENNA terminal tabs. 4.
