IBM Streamer Family Adapter Driver v1.1.1a - Installation Diskette ======================================================================== This diskette contains the Device Driver for the IBM Auto LANStreamer 32 MC adapter, the IBM LANStreamer 32 MC Adapter, and the IBM EtherStreamer 32 MC Adapter, along with all the files required by SCO installation tools, custom(ADM) and netcnfig(ADM). In this file, IBM Streamer Family Adapters means the IBM token ring and ethernet adapters mentioned above. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- --------------------- Diskette Creation ------------------------- ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- The binary file you have downloaded is in a DOS format. You must transfer the file to your UNIX system, uncompressed the file, and then create the installation diskette. The following steps transfer the binary file from a 1.44MB DOS formatted diskette to your UNIX system (NOTE: There may be other methods for transferring the binary file from a DOS system to an UNIX system). 1) Copy the wwdu.DSK image to a 1.44MB DOS formatted diskette. 2) Place the diskette containing the wwdu.DSK file in your UNIX system 1.44MB diskette drive. 3) Using UNIX "doscp" command, copy the wwdu.DSK binary image from the diskette to a directory in your UNIX system. The file name must be wwdu.dsk.Z (NOTE: UNIX is case sensitive). Type the following: doscp a:wwdu.DSK wwdu.dsk.Z 4) Use the UNIX uncompress command to unterse the wwdu.dsk.Z to wwdu.dsk. The file wwdu.dsk contains a disk dump of the IBM Streamer Family Driver 1.0 Installation Diskette. Use the dd(C) utility to create the 1.44MB floppy disk that will be used to install the Driver. The syntax of the dd(C) to create the disk is: dd if=wwdu.dsk of=/dev/fd0135ds18 bs=18k ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- -------------------- Diskette Installation ----------------------- ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- The contents of the diskette must be installed with the custom(ADM) command. Refer to the "System Administrator's Reference" Manual for information about custom(ADM). After finishing the installation, please refer to the README file in the directory /usr/lib/lli/wwdu for information about Driver Installation and Configuration. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- --------------------- Supported environments ------------------------ ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- The IBM Streamer Family Adapter Driver 1.1.1a was tested with SCO Open Server v3.0, which includes: SCO UNIX 3.2v4.2 SCO TCP 1.2.1. SCO NFS 1.2.1. SCO ISPX 1.0.3 Lan Manager 2.2.0l for UNIX Systems. Microsoft NetBEUI and Datalink Services 2.2.0l OSI LT-610 LAN Lower Layers 2.2.31. OSI VT-720 Virtual Terminal 2.1.60. OSI FT-820 File Transfer Access and Management 2.1.82. Also, the Driver has been verified to be compliant with SCO's LLI (Logical Link Interface) Standard. This has been accomplished through the execution of SCO ANT (Automated Network Test) Suite version 3.2.0. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- --------------------- Contents of the Diskette ----------------------- ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- The diskette built with dd(C) should have the following files: ./tmp/_lml/prd=wwdu/typ=n386/rel=1.1.1a/vol=01 ./tmp/perms/wwdu ./etc/copyrights/11.ibm ./usr/include/sys/wwdu.h ./usr/lib/netconfig/reconf/wwdu0 ./usr/lib/netconfig/remove/wwdu0 ./usr/lib/netconfig/info/wwdu0 ./usr/lib/netconfig/init/wwdu0 ./usr/lib/lli/wwdu/README ./usr/lib/lli/wwdu/wwdustat ./usr/lib/lli/wwdu/System ./usr/lib/lli/wwdu/Space.c ./usr/lib/lli/wwdu/Node ./usr/lib/lli/wwdu/Master ./usr/lib/lli/wwdu/Driver.o Restricted Rights Legend: IBM is trademark of International Business Machine Corporation.
