Toy Review:
- Color Scheme:
- Mostly light gray with some black and gold accents and the red Autobot logo on the roof. Not bad looking, but definitely understated.
- Robot Mode:
- Hold on a sec... is that some realistic proportions I see? Couldn't be! ;-) Seriously, though, Rapid Run is the only one of the three bullet train team members that doesn't suffer from some hugely disproportionate body part of some kind or another. In fact, he's downright COOL looking. He's got the big bullet train nosecone thing for a chest, but it works on him. My only complaint is that his weapon/shield thing can be a little big for him to hold in more than a couple positions. There's more black visible in this mode, which increases the overall coolness.
- Vehicle Mode:
- A bullet train! As with his brothers, his formerly clear windows have been replaced by molded in opaque plastic. Darn Hasbro! Anyway, it's a nice looking bullet train.
- Transformation:
- He has some different tricks than the other two bullet trains. While his tail section pulls out to form his legs, his arms fold out from inside and his body section does some interesting folding and rotating. An acceptable level of difficulty, imho.
- Gimmicks:
- His shield weapon thing is part of his vehicle mode, literally. The shield part becomes part of his roof and hull, and the projectile stores underneath.
- Pros/Cons:
- Great robot mode, nice train mode, and combines with other bullet train members to form a gestalt.
- Notes:
- Merges with other Bullet Train Team members to form Rail Racer.
