GWBASIC Works on the 95LX
I have installed Microsoft GWBASIC on my HP 95LX, and it works! I use some calculation programs, asking input from the screen and replying to the screen. This works fine. However, I noticed that the following
GWBASIC statements don't work correctly:
- All graphical functions, (CIRCLE, LINE,..) return an "Illegal function call" message
- BEEP behavior is very strange. The first time it is called, the beep will sound for 8 sec approximately. The second time, it will beep forever!
- The system will hang (and need to be rebooted) on any attempt to use the serial port. (OPEN "COM1:"). HP support in France say this is a known problem, but they do not have a fix for it. But it is possible to print screen output by re-directing the Basic interpreter output : GWBASIC > PRN: under DOS.
